A BILL to amend article four, chapter eighteen-a of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
four-a, relating to pay incentives for teachers who teach in
their core field degree.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That article four, chapter eighteen-a of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section four-a,
to read as follows:
ARTICLE 4. SALARIES, WAGES AND OTHER BENEFITS.
§18A-4-4a. Pay incentive for teaching in core field degree.
The state board of education shall establish a pay incentive
of two thousand dollars for each teacher who teaches in that
teacher's core field degree.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide a $2000.00 pay
incentive to teachers who teach in their core field degree.
§18A-4-4a is new; therefore, strike-throughs and underscoring
have been omitted.
